ABUS 83 locks

Does ANYONE have the depth cuts for the ABUS 83 locks? I cant find my key gauge and I cant find the info on the web anywhere. I don't think it matters but its the 100 (yale) key way. or can someone point me in the right direction I tried ABUS support and they could'nt hardly understand what I wanted.

it doesnt work that way. you dont get depth cuts for a padlock body, you get depth and spacing for a particular plug/profile/keyway.

sounds like you have a Yale keyway, you need Yale depths not Abus depths. That Abus padlock can accept other cores such as Schlage, etc.

is this your lock by any chance? https://www.edlocks.com/abus-83-45-100- ... y1-keyway/

why do you believe it is a Yale "100" keyway? its most likely Y1 keyway.

the depth and spacing for Y1 is readily available.

Are you trying to cut a key or could you share with us what are you trying to get done?

Thanks

As Squelchtone said, the Abus 83 lock takes whatever core they choose to put in the padlock. So if you get another one in the future with a different keyway, then figure out which manufacturer uses that keyway and go from there.

This link is another good resource for depth/spacing. It is especially useful if you have a micrometer and want to know what the closest pin depth is when you measure the key.

Squelchtone thats it exactly except I think they are older it does not say EIGHTYTHREE it reads N° 83/45 Pat. Pend. I have 4 padlocks one operates smoothly with the key and the other three are bound up. The key looks hand cut no crisp edges its curved out, they are all supposed to be keyed a-like. From looking online there is a 100 stamped under the key way according to ABUS thats their Yale key way and looking at a key blank directory it looks right. Ugh I cant believe its that simple and I did not figure it out I tried to make this way more complicated than it needed to be. My plan was to check the key depths to see how close to the nearest cut they were and try to figure out why the key wont work. I toyed with the idea of picking them and just pulling the core to check but I don't think my pick fu is strong enough yet I've passed master and kwickset but nothing better yet.

Thank you both, you saved the wall I was beating my head on. And I am saving both those links they are SUPER handy.
