Lock Picking Terms

I understand, got a Click out of 1, Got a Click out of 2, False Set on three, 4, we got some Counter Rotation.

Seems to me Got some "Counter Rotation", really means, got some "Rotation".
And a "False Set", would mean picking to the inside of a Spool, Can someone Clarify. Thanks

The "counter rotation" is about getting out of false set and getting that spool set. The plug will actually rotate back a little (hence "counter rotation") before turning further to the picking direction.

Thanks Bud, or should I call you Mr Wizer. Though I had seen Counter Rotation with no False Set or Rotation.

If you keep pushing up a pin that is already set, it will eventually push the core back a little so the key pin can be forced above the shear line.

Just seems when LPL says he "got some Counter Rotation", it was some he was feeling, not something he was doing. I'll have to listen again.

He was feeling counter rotation because he was lifting a spool pin that was in a false set.

So when he said "I'm getting some counter rotation" it was both something he was doing and something he was feeling.

Got it, when lifting out of the void, it counterotates.
Thanks all for clearing up. When I was feeling Spools as it was counter rotating, I would ease up.
Had gotten a Master 570 Padlock at a Pawnshop. Was on a bike with chain, they had no key. I said, "If I can pick the lock, can I keep the Lock. They we're glad too, they wanted the chain. 15 minutes later, still didn't get it. Since I couldn't pick, I especially wanted it. Ask if I could use one of their Circular saws with a cut off wheel. Cut chain off. Got the Lock. Looked it up, despite being a small Master lock, It supposedly has 5 Pins, 1 regular. Have picked it probably 30 times now, it also has a "Dead Core", together it makes an Interesting Pick. I want to make a key for it, it takes an M1 R, which is a Reverse of an M1.
Are the pins smaller to allow 5 pins in the same space or spread out differently? Seems like it would be a Tough one to Impression. More likely try to see Pin length, pin one is easy, rest I woul have to make little decoding feelers. Impressioning Likely for a First?
