KR, could you maybe give us a little more information about what's going on? Who's lock are you trying to pick? What kind of lock is it? What type of picks are you using to rake it? These details seem trivial, but without them all anyone can really tell you to do is read the MIT guide.

Speaking of which, have you read the MIT guide yet?

Best locks are difficult if you havn't been picking very long. I find single pin picking is effective, but these locks are peticularly keen to open with a ripping technique using a half diamond. Also if you have computer generated picks, those work well too.

Use a real light tension, the inside of the lock will feel "gummy" otherwise.

depending on how its keyed best locks can be very hard to pick. I've used a special torque wrench (i made one) to pick the control line, which is hard but doable.

Make sure you know how these locks work before you try to pick.

See the crypto page at www.crypto.com/photos/misc/sfic/index.html especially.

If you're asking what pick to use your asking the wrong question. more important is that you understand how the lock works. When you do you'll know what kind of pick will work for YOU.
