Sargent dimple lock

Yes, I have been searching, but could still use some input. I just got 2 Sargent dimple locks:

Here is a closer look at the key:

Can I take this apart without getting a pin or two in the eye?

The searching I've done seems contradictory about picking it.

Here is what I can observe;

-the pins are only on one side, so the wavey rake someone made out of pliers would seem to work.

-the three wholes on the side are of uniform depth

-I have been able set a couple of pins but I really can't feel any movement in the cylinder.

Any help would be appreciated :)

p.s. I know I'm probably out of my league here but I at least want to look inside :wink:

Interesting...the pins are horizontal and vertical.
I'd make a matador rake to use on the horizontal pins and use a single-pin picking technique on the vertical pins.
I'm not really sure how to take it apart, though.

If I get it apart I'll post some picks, I couldn't see it at first but it has got a 3 pin sidebar, they actually protrude between the top and bottom rows :shock:

I got these on ebay for about $3.00, (the guy had about 60 of them, I think they were from a hospital, I can contact him if anyone is interested) one lock has 8 keys the other 4, I'll make a bump key, raking is another option, honestly though I really want to learn how to pick it pin by pin :D
