Hi,
Our lock specialist Han Fey just finished a new article on Abloy locks.
This time the latest Abloy model (named abloy protec) is covered.
http://www.toool.nl/abloypart3.pdf
We hope you will enjoy it as much as the other articles.
Kind regards,
Barry Wels

Nice to see you again, Barry. When do you expect the new TOOOL site to be done?
Nice job on the article, Han.
EDIT: Does anyone know if the Protec has protection against the key molding method of copying keys? If not, the different levels of key copying seem useless.

Wow, that's a lot of info to wrap my brain around. I like the disk blocking function.

Can you explain this for us?

That's him, and he did a huge presentation on lock bumping at a security conference.
I doubt he'll reply, seems as though he comes to drop docs and then leaves.

i really wish there was a decent online abloy dealer in america... such excellent locks, yet almost impossible for us in the states to get our hands on them... unless of course, you live next to one of the like, 3 dealers in the US.

wow, even though it's rare to see so many abloy classics on eBay... wow.
it's still not the same as getting the exact lock you want from a dealer though
eBay is where i got a few of my multi-locks, but i had to get my interactive one somewhere else.
edit: if you see "genmayplot", then you're bidding against me

The Abloys I got aren't classics, but they are DiscLock Pros. DiskLock Pro si the 4th generation of Abloy locks, Protec is the 5th. (1st is Classic, 2nd is Profile, 3rd is Exec, 4th is DiskLock Pro, 5th is Protec)
You can see some good pics of my Abloys here .
Getting locks from a dealer is a lot more expensive, but if you want the exact model, I guess its the only way to go.
And my eBay ID is "holzman909"

most of the locks in those auctions linked look like classics though.
my only abloy is a protec cylinder... then i have a ripoff abloy classic. really, i would replace all my padlocks with abloy's if i could... i love those things.

I have only had my Abloy cylinders for a day and I'm alreay attached to them .
All of the auctions were Classics except for 2 that were disklock pros.
Where did you manage to get a protec cylinder and what level is it?
Also, do the DiskLock Pros have the disc blocking system? It seems pretty new. I am looking for a knockoff Abloy padlock, I'd like to pick a disc lock.

eBay of course i'm not sure of the level but it's something along the lines of the top lock in this link: http://www.abloy.com.au/default.asp?id=415
my abloy knockoff is a padlock, only has one key though, but it's fun to play around with none the less... really, i'd love to put abloy locks to actual use instead of just being hobby locks to play around with, but it's hard to find the exact locks you need via eBay
