So, I came home tonight to find that my dad had dropped a plastic bag full of locks from his work on my bed! Yaaaaaaaay!
One of them was a medeco, too! I got pretty excited. It's a dimpled lock, which means it's going to be rather difficult to pick by normal methods, right? I figure what I could do tho, is to just insert a pick sideways into the lock, twist it to push up each pin, and then hopefully hear that lovely click of success.
But I do have an issue... My ordinary tension wrench won't work on it. Will I need to use my feather touch?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

A dimpled medeco... Pictures please. You may have somethign else entirely. Why won't your regular tension tool work? Day off or something?

You're going to need to post some pictures, I don't know that medeco makes a dimple lock, they use a rotating sidebar that's a monster to pick as well. Norudeenshakkur just posted pics of a series of picks desinged to compromise dimple locks, give that thread a butcher's

Yes, Medeco does make dimpled locks. They are called the DuraCam and DuraCamII, they can change cores quickly, and some are also biaxial
Have a fun pick.

I stand corrected! GOOD LUCK with a bi-axial dimple lock! You'll need it!

I wouldnt think of the dura cams as dimpled locks as much as a slightly different Medeco lock. Those are the principles that will govern picking these. You just have far less depth to work with. The rotation still applies. I would look for medeco information, not dimple info.

So, I've disassembled the lock and came up with a battle plan. I found out the way that this lock works. Specifically, there is a bar on the side which, when the dimples are put to the right height, allow the bar to be pushed in. And then at that point, it releases in much the same way as a wafer lock would.
The bar is sort of triangular, so I figure that if I give it a LOT of tension, the pins should set. My problem that it isn't mounted in anything. ^_^;;
However, I managed to pick it while it was disassembled, that is, physically pushing down the bar and clicking the pins. Knowing what I know now, I'm going to attempt to pick it while it's assembled, in a vice or something.
Thanks for all your help so far, guys!

I'll just need to take pictures for you guys. I think my father has a digital camera I can borrow for it.
I've taken a look, and as far as I can tell, it does NOT have a sidebar. It has a bar, on the side, that releases when the dimples are correctly set. But not a sidebar. There is only one set of dimples, none on the side or anything. But, it has four dimples, and it IS biaxial. But I'll take pics of it.

On a medeco cam lock there are no top pins
The side bar drops into the holes in the sides of the pins. when the correct angle and height is reached.
In order for the sidebar to drop ALL of the pin holes have to be properly aligned at the same time.

So... No sidebar, but a bar on the side? This bar on the side wouldn't happen to be combed with teeth that are allowed to drop into the dimple pins when they are properly aligned would it? Yes? That sounds about right then. Definately NOT a sidebar. JK. What exactly did you think a sidebar was?
