I took out somepins from my deadbolt and one was quite unique compaired to the other ones. The standard driver pin, or at least what I think is standard, looks like a small pieace of metal with very lightly rounded edges.

This one looked more like this....

My drawings arn't great but you get the point, I hope. I was wondering why this one is diffrent. why in a 5 pin tumbler there is a driver pin that looks like that. Thanks guys.

ps. As you can prob tell I'm a noob. Thanks for the patience.

Try searching for spoolpins, that might explain a lot.
Using the search option is gonna keep you from getting flamed, there are some guys around who'd love to burn you if you don't search before asking a question.

That's a mushroom pin.

Thanks man, I found that it might be called a "mushroom pin" or something to that degree. I didn't realize that spaces aren’t shown between characters. That kinda sucks cuz it throws off my diagram completely. Additionaly it's hard to find information on something when you're not sure what you're looking for. Ya I know there are flamers out there but I don't take it personaly, some good jokes have come from flames.

thanks SFGOON.

You should tag ASCII art as code to avoid that kind of mess. It's caused by HTML which doesn't accept whitespaces (or tabs) for layout.

Probably you should use the Code tags [ code] [ \code ] ( I added spaces to the tags so they would show up), and lots of previews to make sure it looks right. I believe 'code' forces a mono-spaced font.
