ASEC Euro Pick Design
Anyone designed a reliable, long lasting pick that will fit into ASEC euro profile keyways?
I am able to pick using a modified slimline HPC hook ( my baby, I love that pick so much <wistful sigh> ) that copes admirably with YALE ERA ISEO etc and many of my ASEC's, so long as no no.8 or 9 exists in the ASEC's anywhere else other than in the last position.
I've found that in the ASEC's, I just cant lift pins accurately beyond a low set pin without risking my pick, and that just aint an option.
I've tried all the usual homegrown stuff like paper clips but they are just not strong enough to maintain a bend to pass a low set pin and then manipulate the target pin pressure ( have found ASEC pins require more pressure to set than other euro cylinders).
So if anyone has designed an effective pick to cope with this issue I'd love a photo of it and perhaps measurements so I can reshape 1 of my many non used picks. I've tried so many shaft and tip shape variations but none remain strong enough for me to be confident to re-use constantly.
