Peterson SFIC core tools

They're specialty torque tools for picking interchangeable core locks. So far, I've found that the included pick is so flexible as to be a joke. The verdict is still out on the torque tools, as I don't have a proper practice lock yet.

Does anyone have any experiences or hints for these tools?

You don't like that pick? I was fairly impressed when using my friends. Anyway, on topic, a friend of mine has that set and the time I tried using it I had no more luck than a normal tension wrench, and neither has he in the time he has owned it.

Personally I love the slender gems, and the tension tools are awesome. I think that regular petersons are too thick, and i actually like the slender gem's flexibility.

I've made a few of these tension wrenches that don't work at all. Of course, I'm pretty sure I'm just getting the measurements wrongs, as I've only ever approximated them by looking at the picture, and honestly haven't put a lot of thought into it. But, if someone is feeling ambitious and feels like spoon feeding ( ), I wouldn't mind more precise measurements. Particularly the depth of the "teeth".

This subject is exactly what brought me to the site to begin with. I found that someone had actually gone to the trouble of getting into some old archives, and scanned the design it to the site. It just isn't the easiest thing to find, so here is the link:

I have a couple of the wrenches from Peterson they suck or I suck at using them I have 8-10 best locks and I can’t get them to work not once
one core I have I have picked the control sleeve 3 times with a regular tension wrench even have a best core cutaway w both keys but the control sleeve wrench will not work on it because the cuts on the core and plug stop at the holes in the bottom

I didn't care for the wrenches but the pick works great for me.

Peterson sells three versions of their IC tension wrenches--ICTT-A, B, and C. From their description, it appears they are different width/thickeness (their ad mentions that "C" is best for the wide E-series keyways.

Can anyone measure or describe the differences? Maybe there is also a height variation???
