I must not flame, I must not flame, I must not flame....

this lock is a Rim-Cylinder, and it functions along the basis of the "pin-tumbler" mechanism.

To learn how to pick this lock find the MIT guide in the FAQ section of this site.. It is very good and will have you picking that lock soon..

This lock is easy to pick, but believe me when I tell you that you need dedication.. It will take you a long time to open it at first, but you will get better with time.

You require "lock-picks" to open this lock, and furthermore since you are in iceland you will require slim-line lock-picks. These tools are also discussed in the FAQ section of this site, and will help you choose your set.

Good luck :P

...and for that lock the picks will also have to be polished brass.

What? It's a stupid, normal pin tumbler, nothing special. If you taught a monkey to pick locks, the monkey could do that one.

Maybe you should go to the pet store.

And before you even dare ask, www.southord.com - get the cheapest 8 piece set (about 15$) to see if you even like picking locks.

Oh - English isn't your first language, is it?

Sorry if I came across as a jerk, I'm a little quick on the trigger these days...

you people are so negative!

sindri:
there are other ways to open locks besides brass picks. you can also use brass pipe wrenches or brass crowbars.

if NDE is the way you want to go get a brass fiber pick. i hear they are superb! you can stab the homeowner with it and steal his/her keys

jk. slimlines are the way to go. check out http://www.lockpickshop.com

All you need is one big brass brick.

That is all I can say right now.....They are watching me.

Be very careful.

Or you could use a realllly strong brass magnet. You can just aim it at the lock and, BOOM, rip the lock clear out of that door. Don't worry, even if it is just a brass finish, it will be enough.

Picker, there's this interesting notion that you may wish to explore. It's called "not speaking when you have nothing to say," and it's widely considered to be beneficial both to yourself and to those around you.

I see nothing wrong with the original post; there are people in this thread adding more cr*p to the forum, but it's not sindri.

Hey vector,

Sure I will explore that as soon as you advise everyone else too.

It was a joke Vector. As for your post I see no value in it either. Perhaps you need to learn what you preach.

You are not the only one guilty in this thread, but you have made several posts in a row throughout the forums that do nothing but "amusingly" flame new members, and I cannot imagine what legitimate reason you could have for doing so. You can't change everyone, but you can change your own behavior, and I would appreciate it if you did so. "Eveyone else is doing it" is an attitude that won't get you anywhere in business, school, law, or indeed most of life.

That was my first thought - what would it be considered? A bored lock-set perhaps?

I hardly "Flame" anyone. The only thing I have done here is question the true intentions of Sindri as he was asking quesions like how to pick High security cylinders such as ASSA and other cylinders found on doors, such as the one above. I am saying that I am doing nothing different from anyone else so do not attack me. If you are going to mock me for what I said or flamed, then attack everone else as well. Look amongst the forms and you will see the large threads flaming people when they ask a simple question as Sindri has. I have made possibly 2-4 Flame posts out of 150 and get attacked.
