Hello everyone of LP101. First off I want to say thank you for the wealth of information this site has to offer. I stumbled across it a few months back and have been picking every since. It has so much information I couldn't bring myself to post for I had no questions that were left unanswered untill now. My lock picking skills are mediocre at best and just recently have been trying to practice with more difficult locks and thats when I stumbled upon this lock in my grandfathers basement. The name on the lock is Walsco by Viro Italy. I have yet to been able to pick this lock and it looks and feels like it is good quality. I've learned all about spool pins but never encountered one before and I'm guessing this is what it might be but since I never heard or saw one of these locks before (don't get to Italy too much  ) just wanted to see if any of you had any input sorry for the long post just wanted to introduce myself and I apologize in advance for the quality of the pictures probably shouldn't of even posted any but maybe you can make something usefull out of all those blurs.

Mas

First off welcome, glad to meet ya.

Next, i assume the lock opens using the key? You said it was in your grandfathers basement which could be damp and depending ont he age of the lock (looks kinda old) things could be rusty or grimey. Assuming that it is in full working condition when you set as many pins as you can get are there ones that still feel like they arent picked? ie you feel the spring pusing back or is it like you have bound them all. You said you have read about security pins which is good but when you enounter one you have to ease up the tension cus the plug will spin backwards a bit. Good luck and im sure others will be able to help out more than me, your skill is prob. much better than mine ive just heard the security pin speel about 40 times lol. appologies for anything i put incorrectly.

I'm not meaning to give you a hard time about the pics, but for future reference, this might be helpful. :)

First off thank you for all the responses. The tools I have are homemade and are of pretty good quality and just recently purchased a majestic set. I've picked kwikset, masterlock, a National lock that I also found in the basement, schlages and some other no name brand locks. I did just lubricate the lock and I'm letting it sit for awile I'll let you know how it goes. I'm pretty sure now it is security pins now but I'm always up for a chalange. Sorry again about the pics but they were taken with a 20 dollar pencam (no focus). But maybe next time I'll get my dad to let me borrow his Cannon :D . Thanks for the help and not being too harsh like I've seen before
