That is factory cut, ABUS only makes them to show inside, and how it works. Some people on this forum can immitate those pretty good.

That's the newest addition to my collection, an Abus Plus Cutaway. It has yet to arrive however.
You want cutaways? Talk to Zeke! :P
I think he is the member with the most cutaways on the forum. I think we can all be envious of this!

I am not sure if I have the most cutaways or not. I do know that Ezer has a very very nice collection of cutaways also 8) .

*Off topic*

I was playing around with the Abloy decoder the other day. Put the key in, turn it and it tells you the direct key code and the indirect key code. Pretty nifty. I only mention it because at first I thought it was a cutaway of some sort. :)

When I was in Germany recently I visited a couple of what we call DIY shops in the UK (Baumarkt in German). In front of every lock display area there would be one of these Abus cutaways, locked onto a chain. I didn't have very long to look as I was with the family, but it was still fun to see. My first thought was that if you opened the lock you could walk off with it (if you were dishonest!). But there was some clever 'not so obvious' mechanism to prevent this.

I guess Abus makes these available to distributors, and perhaps the guy on eBay is taking advantage of this.

Looking at the bids I notice that *one of you* is bidding for a second one. Which means that the price is going to be high again as I like the look of these! :(
