Hello All,
Just joined this BBS and like what I see. Lots of good information.
I am retired, and have interest in lots of things. I like metal work, woodworking, cars, computers, and any type of machinery. Locks are just another subject that I have interest in.
I have a 30 x 40 shop, with metal lathe, milling machine, table saw, radial arm saw, power miter saw, 6 x 48 sander, thickness planter, jointer, and lots of hand tools. I have a Miller Thunderbolt welder, acetylene/ oxygen set, various lifts and stands.
I have had a set of lock picks for about 40 years. I worked at a garage when I got them.
Thanks for all the good information,

I'll bet you could make some pretty mean picks and other really interesting things with that shop of yours. Check out the posts on making picks.

Well hotdam!
Welcome to LP101 skeeter, wanna be my best friend?
J/k, but you sound like you're set in the tools department, you should have a lot of fun on this site. Welcome and enjoy.
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

Greetings from wonderful Peoria, IL! OK, maybe not so wonderful this time of year, but anyway...
I'm new to this site and to lock picking. I've always had an interest in lock picking (amongst a LOT of other things) but haven't really looked at it seriously until recently. My only interest in it is pretty much the gee whiz, that's neat side of it (no interest in becoming a locksmith) and it would give me something to fidgit with every now and then. Of course, if my wife knew I was interested in this she's be like "What do you want to do THAT for?!?!" or "how much is this going to cost us now?!?" Of course, I don't dare mention to her that she paid over $100 for 3 candles and holders for them
Anyway, I'll stop my rambling for now and return you to your reguarly scheduled programming.
Dave

Well, while the world is at it, i think now is the time for me to join the band wagon.
I guess i should have done this 10 (11 with this one) posts ago, but ok. Better late than never.
Hello.
My Name is Jordy H (now, look at my nick, original, er?) and i'm a 17 year old economics student. I live in Holland with my mom, dog, fleas and locks.
Not being in the business of locksmithing, or even seriously considering to do something in it, i still posess a great urge in myself to open everything that was locked before.
I fool around a bit with a 9-pick set and a jackknife from Southord, i'm mainly into cylinders (because that's what i've got at hand), but i toy a bit with wafer locks and padlocks too (home made shimming, can't pick them yet.)
I'm here to learn, and if i ever get the opportunity, to teach a bit too.
Lurking around, i saw a community i did not ever dream of before.
A group of people that did not act in a dog-eat-dog manner, but just gets along like normal people should.
Thus, i'm proud to join.
Yours (and yes, almost allways so elaborate),
Me
