yeah unbreakable, i'd be curious to see the innerworkings of one of these.

i'm loathe to think there's a locking configuration that's unpickable. vector40 mentioned a "letterbox" as a possible bypassing mechanism? what's a letterbox?

Most common in the UK, letterbox kits are used to go through a letter slot in a door and manipulate a latch, handle, knob, thumbturn, key, or the like from the other side. It usually consists of a handle and several modular heads, plus a mirror or camera or something to help see what you're doing.

Not that common in the US, since there aren't a lot of doors with letterbox gaps, though a few similar tools exist.

They had letter slots in Chicago once-upon-a-time. But people in the US are jumpy. They also own guns. Jumpy gun-toting home owners create jumpy gun-toting postal workers. So they switched to mailboxes outside the door. But people in the US own dogs. Pitbulls and Rottweilers to be precise. And these dogs need to pee. But Americans are lazy, so we invented the fenced-in yard to store pitbulls and rottweilers. Mailboxes were moved to the street and the mail couriers rejoiced. No more walking... they don't even get out of the truck anymore, let alone knock on your door. Still not good enough, though. Communities going up now are finding their mail solution in the form of cluster boxes. That's right. You have to walk to the end of the block to collect your mail now, so the post man doesn't have to turn off the main thorofare... I suppose so he can deliver your mail at 55MPH. No knock, but you can always use binoculars to check for mail!
