I'm a little slow in getting here. I joined about 3 months ago and I have just lurked except for a couple of posts two weeks ago.

I have spent 29 years in the printing business and have lost the last 2 jobs I've had to them closing their doors. The last one at the end of last December. A few weeks ago I enrolled in the FB locksmithing course so maybe there's a new career for me, outside of the printing industry.

Anyway thanks to all that contribute to this group, I've learned a ton of info in the last 3 months and have enjoyed it tremendously.

Hello everyone. Got an old 70's pinball machine i lost my key for. Looks like a good site so i'm gonna start here and see if I can open it and save me a little money. don't know if I'm going to make a hobby of it but it would really come in handy for me right now.

Newbie

Three days new !

Wondering if anyone has set an aptitude test so I can judge if I should just be a hobbiest or maybe take this up seriously for an income ? I am reluctant to shell out hard earn't cash on some training only to find out it's not for me

Seems to be numerous courses around (pinkies looks the most profesional so far) but why spend loads and maybe find out I'm not suited to it ?

What defines suited ?....Perhaps if I could earn back the cost of the course in a professional manner in say 4 months ? Seems like standards are pretty high (which is pleasing) 97% NDE !!!! Certainly something to aspire to !
Chance favours the prepared mind

MasterLock 130 4 pin tumbler. Ghetto Picks made from paper clips and a wrench made from the metal part of a wooden ruler. (notice the awsome 90 degree turn!) lol...

(i was bored at work today)

Great site and great new hobby! I have been reading this site and all the instructional posts for about 2 days now... Took me about 3 hours time over those two days to get this lock opened. After that i was able to open it about 3 times in an hour after that... I'm sure with real picks i will get a better feel for it and do much better~ but i wont have them for a couple weeks. I gope to learn allot more in the near future and cant wait to ass more padlocks to my collection!
