Jason,

Just to avoid reading a thread from you in the not to distant future saying youve cut a finger off please seriously consider buying or aquireing a metal work vice, this will then hold your pick material, slow the overheating process down so you can catch it in time and be a lot safer all round.

I hope your wearing safety glasses or even better goggles!

I got safety glasses free with mine, allog with a nifty little apron...

That advice to get an authentic Dremel is a good one.
I've used a Craftsman, Mastercraft, Ryobi and a Makita and all are crap compared to an authentic Dremel for their torque and rigidity.
Also lemme suggest you buy some reinforced cutoff wheels versus what they give in the box kit. You'll thank me later.

Heh... most of the time making cutaways (for me) consists of replacing broken discs.
