Wafer Lock

Ok, So I was practicing on this safe the other day.

Good News... I opened it
Bad News... It won't re-lock with the key (the key will not turn it back)

It is a double sided wafer lock. Do you think that I destroyed it while picking or something? I know wafer locks can be damaged easily. I was using a double ball pick. Can anyone recomend A) what they think happened and B) What I can do to prevent this in future picking?

Can you easily insert the key? Did you remember to turn it to one of the two positions from which you can remove a key when you picked it? Are you sure the key is completely inserted into the lock?

I have never seen a Sentry safe with a double sided wafer lock, I must admit. What brand of lock does it appear to be? Chigaco makes a great many double sided wafer locks.

I would recommend trying a squirt of a lubricant, and trying the key again. If anything, you probably bent a wafer, which is now trapped in a position that blocks rotation.

Thanks for the help on that one. I think that I must have bent a wafer. I will try to take it apart in the next week and will let you know the results.
I am also working on a kryptonite lock with six pins. I think they are serrated. I am using a brockhage pick set in conjunction with a majestic high tech set. Any recommendations on technique?? Other tools??
Also, if anyone has this pick set (brockhage): do you know what the two little z shaped tools do?

P.S. the lock has a ball bearing mechanism

They're tension wrenches, intended to be put on a keyring.

Hey, thanks for the info on the tension wrenches. For all of those who are looking at the lock that I have been working on for the last month... you can forget picking it. I took mine apart tonight and it has lower serrated pins with upper spool pins (all six). I tried my high tech set and it didn't work (for at least 10 minutes on each Majestic pick). So, I guess I can throw this one into the drawer until I buy a jack hammer. Catch you all on the flip side and good luck picking the new age of locks.
