Tshock's 2 minute or less DIY plug spinner

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

You guys remind me of the video game commercial where 2 ninja's are about to battle, when one stops and says something like, "Whoa, you could kick my butt, is there anyone more my speed?', and the other ninja points to a fat guy behind a tree eating a sandwich.

Yep...that's Nintendo for ya. They're talking about the ability for their system to accurately match up players with each other according to skill and experience. It's indeed quite helpful since you never get you butt completely kicked with no chance of fighting back, and you never have to be bored with playing against someone who's completely new and has no skill.

Hmm...that was a bit off-topic...

I'm going to go build the spinner now and see how it works. I'll report back. :-)

I am going to building one of these also. For the 'working end' of the spinner, will wiper blade inserts perform well? I want to make sure it is made of a material wide enough to do the job, yet not so wide that the key way warding is an obstacle.

Given that spQQky's spinner looks pretty well exactly what I made, and given that he used the very same brand of mouse trap, I'd be comfortable saying that it does work as well as advertised. It's pretty well 100% effective. Those are pretty good odds in my books. :)

after a couple of failed attempts and bloody fingers from trying to do it without the handle, I broke out the wooden dowel and made one that looked like the one shown above.

So far I've used it on a best sfic that I couldn't pick the way that opened the lock. Works great. Thanks for the awesome idea.

If I am, I'm coming after YOU first!

Well... given that you never came after me Omi... you either didn't try, or it worked great. Which is it? :)

For years I just used a stiff tension wrench flexed in the direction to turn while holding the plug with a screwdriver, pull the screwdriver out and the wrench spins the plug. The HPC spinner i purchased a few months ago gives slightly better results, I think it is too bulky or heavy to get the momentum necessary to be 100% effective. This tool was expensive and a bit of a dissapointment. The Rytan unit I recieved 2 weeks ago is smaller, lighter, and 100% effective, At 1/4 the price a bargain.
