Somewhat interesting locks!

Information about locks themselves. Questions, tips and lock diagram information should be posted here.

Somewhat interesting locks!

I hope that for at least one person, the newer folks more likely will see somthing new. I will do my best to keep adding locks that are beyond the average deadbolt!

Since this is the open part of LP101, if we could all avoid direct howto pick info, that would probably be best. Discussion about the origin and application, fun factiods or stories are more then welcomed!

MultiLock euro configuration - uses a pin in pin system.

Sure-Loc euro cylinder.
My friend brought this back from Singapore for me - its really easy to pick and is actually built in the states, suprisingly. The lock was pretty cheap (singapore is expensive, so I guess its really cheap then) but offers somewhat low tech anti-duplication (comes with 6 keys from the factory so you need not get them cut) was like 10$ USD.

Abloy lock from a payphone. Whoop de doo!

This next lock is my favourite, I think they where made in the 80's - I've only seen one in use... I have been unable to pick - the well know foil impressioning trick should work, though. A local schoolboard used to use these for "secure" rooms, but have not been installed or serviced for a long time (now replaced by less secure sargent locks).

Well, I hope someone saw something new! Next time I have access to a digicam (mine went bust) I have some interesting Kaba locks, as well as a few cutaways (some made by forum member n2oah!)

that last lock pictured

Postby raimundo » 27 Mar 2006 13:19

That last lock pictured is the sergeant keso. no warding but pins fill one half of that keyway, I have always thought that this would be an interesting lock to try the fiber pick on, plenty of room on the open half of the keyway to move the shaft, and the ability to keep loose pins moving while having some give for the pins that have hung on the shear could help. of course I don't have a fiber pick, but for this lock, I could make one. that pickmasters site does not have the full keyblade length pick that I envision. Pins gang into the keyway from both sides, and a brush would just keep them moving.
