Yeah, I figured that much, just didn't know exactly where on the patent website. I've tried searching through information on there before, and it's always been a mess for me, not in a nice PDF package like the above.

I have adobe acrobat and put it together. You will need alternatiff to view the images and you can find that here. The best way to find a certain lock is to search by assignee name e.g.; medeco schlage etc., and look through all of the patents. Here is a link to the help page for searching the U.S. patent office. Their search tool is not as easy as google and if you don't have experience searching the patent office this is a must read.

UK patent database

Postby Charnley » 28 Mar 2006 10:32

Hi

I use the UK patent office website. It is extensive and very fast to load, it is also world-wide. The USA site is often very slow. From the UK site you can download or print which is very handy too. It is free and has saved me a fortune on numerous occasions everytime I think I have invented a wheel !

One of my applications has just been granted a UK patent and now I have to find the eye watering money to file a PCT in the next couple of weeks.
The design is currently being developed and should be ready for UK and USA launch in a few months. Ive been very lucky and have a big name that is not part of the Empire behind it too !
