not sure how long i've been readin posts but i think i've been a member about 1 year. i'm a joiner and completely hooked on pickin (hooked get it or never mind). started pickin because i thought damagin the lock was a bit over the top and its hard work. brain over brawn and all that. just bought a cb 5g pick ahhhh help. got an idea to help in practicin pickin era invincible locks. not sure if it'll work with other era though. take anti drill plate off so you can see levers through slot. not full visibility but ya can see levers. let me know what ya think

Wouldn't happen to be Oblivion, would it? If so, I admit it inspired me as well

Hey everyone, my name is Jeff and I'm glad to have found this site. My work doesn't involve lockpicking, but I have a passion for learning as much as I can about anything. I try to have a very diverse knowledge of everything and anything.
Anyway, Im from the Washington DC area, I work at a retail store, at a restaurant, and I also teach tae kwon do at a local studio that I have been attending for 12 years.
I like reading (mainly educational books on engineering, science, automotive, but hardly ever novels). Anyway, thats me!

Firstly, Hello all at LP101.
As a LP101 virgin, I would like to say what an informative, well organised forum this is.
Secondly, I would like to take the time to give http://www.locksmith-tools.co.uk a mention. Yesterday (2/5/06) I phoned them at 3.30pm to order their Southord C2010 pick set http://www.locksmith-tools.co.uk/acatalog/Slim-Line_Picks.htm
After giving a few details and placing my order I awaited my new purchase, thinking i would have to wait at least 2-28 days for the delivery.
Well this morning (3/5/06) at 9.35am I was surprised to be greeted by the postman requesting my moniker and handing over the parcel containing my latest purchase!
WELL DONE a superb turnaround time and I will definitely be using these guys again.
Thats it for my first post, glad to be on board.

Howdy. I've been interested in locks and security systems (mostly phone and computer systems, and partly in a professional capacity) for about 23 years now, but I only got my first set of picks this year after seeing what TOOOL and the locksport community in Europe were doing. There is definitely a large difference in knowing the theory behind bypassing locks and the actual hands-on experience of it.
I picked about 2 pin-tumbler padlocks and a few disk cylinders before getting bored with how easy they were before I moved on to a repinnable Brinks padlock with 3 serrated spool pins. That one gave me a challenge on and off for about 2 weeks before I finally raked it open, but I still haven't picked it properly. I need a shorter hook. Anyway, thanks for the great site.
