For me first set of homemade picks i'm thinking of making the handles out of fiberglass. Has anyone ever done this?
I have a pretty good idea of how i'm going to do it, i just need to make a mould to use. I've drawn up a few models, with nubs on the pick which i think will be needed to keep it tight in the handle.

looks good, you might want to round off the leading edge of the handles.

Those Look great, you'll have to post some pics once you finish the picks. I agree that you should definetely round off the tips, otherwise they might dig into your fingers.
What did you draw the pictures with? They look really good.

No it's not flash i used Autodesk Inventor 10, i modeled them while on break at work. The front of the handle is rounded it's just hard to see from that picture, i've rounded it more in a newer model.

It will work mix the resin and such but were a resperator when sanding and long sleeves i had to do some fiberglass to my car interior i did'nt wear long sleeves.. it sucked  good luck post picks then

Ya thats kinda how i got the idea, i've made many things for my car with fiberglass. I always use a resperator when i'm using fiberglass.

Right on then buddy best of luck, i was thinking to to once sanded there perfect to paint, hmm just got an idea.. make the first cameleon painted fiberglass pick handles, with two coats or clear for protection, i think iw ill give it a go when i get a shot.

yeah sounds like an alright idea.I suggest you try it,but right now,im sticking to heat-shrink tubing.

Haha i just replied to you another thread, make sure you sand your picks before oyu put the shrink on its a pain in the arse i ruin the end of the heat shrink and have to cut it.
