Fiberglass pick handles?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Fiberglass pick handles?

Postby Winston_Smith » 24 May 2006 23:40

For me first set of homemade picks i'm thinking of making the handles out of fiberglass. Has anyone ever done this?

I have a pretty good idea of how i'm going to do it, i just need to make a mould to use. I've drawn up a few models, with nubs on the pick which i think will be needed to keep it tight in the handle.

looks good, you might want to round off the leading edge of the handles.

Those Look great, you'll have to post some pics once you finish the picks. I agree that you should definetely round off the tips, otherwise they might dig into your fingers.

What did you draw the pictures with? They look really good.

No it's not flash i used Autodesk Inventor 10, i modeled them while on break at work. The front of the handle is rounded it's just hard to see from that picture, i've rounded it more in a newer model.
