Hi, i just joined and am relatively new to lockpicking. I started a few days ago and i'm pretty good, but i can never seem to be consistent. One day i'll be picking everything, the next i cant do anything. its probably cause im using a screwdriver for tension wrench and a paper clip for a pick . I can already pick my front door (schlage) and a 40mm padlock( no clue what it is)
so i guess thats good for a paper clip

Hey everybody...
I'm pretty new at this... probably about where deathadder is... I've read a lot, studied a lot, etc., but haven't had a whole lot of experience yet... So far, most of what I've done so far hasn't been true picking (mostly latch manipulation... you know...wires and plastic cards), but I'd really like to "go to the next level." But like I said, haven't had much of a chance to practice yet: I started reading while at school, but my dorm room lock was a BEST brand lock, and those seem nearly impossible to pick... bleagh... But I'm very excited about learning!

Just want to say hi, found this forum after a search for picking padlocks.
Seems like there's allways someone at work that'll loose or lock in the keys to their locker, and I'm tired of using a hacksaw or crowbar to open them up.
I had to open a cheap padlock with a crowbar yesterday, and I accidently scrathed the cabinetdoor, next time I want to be able to pick it.

Hello all! My name is Scott, I am a locksmith/alarm tech from southern NJ, USA.
I am looking forward to learning many tips here, and maybe can share some myself. I have only been locksmithing for a couple of years, my background being more in the alarm industry, but am intrigued with locks.
I hope there are some folks from the states here also, I see many from the EU.
Thanks for having me.

If your new, introduce yourself here. Other posts/threads will be deleted as I see them from now on.
Regardless though, let me be the first to welcome you to the forums.
just a maintenance man from p'cola learning how to key, master and pick locks, the more i know, the more i'm worth, just my opinion.

HI to u all, I joined few days ago, I'm a real noob to lockpicking(the lockpicking set that I bought will be delivered in 5 days ).
My mom is the reason why I wanna start lockpicking. We live in an apartment , so our mailbox is always locked and she has the key, so she gets all the mail(including mine) and she reads my letters without my approval. I tried talking to her about it, but she still does it. So I decided to know how to pick locks(I've always been interested in it, but just never took the initiative to learn) so I'll open the mailbox and get my letters before she gets home.
So there's my story and I hope I learn a lot from this site(can't wait to get my lockpicking set).
