I am relativly new (signed in 2 months ago) and just wanted to say high. I am a total rookie but I like the challange of lockpicking (and hate the people who abuse it).

I've been reading this for quite some time and now I finally got my lazy ass up to join. I'm heading one of the local lockpicking groups in Germany, been picking for about 5 years now and I'm very glad to have found this site.

Introduction

Postby NeoGeo » 18 Mar 2004 13:52

Hello,
I'm completely new, both here and to lockpicking and registered today.
I normally lurk for quite a while on forums before posting but I saw there was a need for hosting, and I thought I could help.

I probably will read a lot and practice even more before making other posts, except if I feel I can help

Hiya
Found this site while looking for some pictures of locks for an "interesting mechanisms" assignment, heh.
Never tried lockpicking before, but I've always had a passion for collecting keys... been collecting them since I was around 6 and by now I have 117. So lockpicking interested me right away, obviously :)

I spent a day trying to pick a cheap no-name 4 pin padlock and by now I can re-key and re-pick it in 15 seconds using a small picture hanging hook as the tension wrench and an industrial type staple as the pick. Although i had to take the padlock apart and leave just the core to be able to re-key it.

So, the next step now is my front-door lock. All i know about it is that it has 5 pin stacks and it's a WeiserLock. Anybody have any specific hints on those?
Thanks in advance.

Just a beginner

Postby Limone_man » 18 Mar 2004 18:10

Hi all,

I just wanted to introduce myself and say that I have been reading the topics for a while now. It got me interested in lock picking so I bought myself a cheap set of picks and a few padlocks, etc... It's good fun and I haven't found a pin tumbler lock that I couldn't pick yet; then I again I haven't had that much experience.

Any brands of pin tumbler locks that are more difficult to pick than others???

Thank you :D

Yeah, I'm new here and to picking, but i thought it'd be fun to learn because I'm always trying to pick up new trades, and this is like number 1 million, oh well, it should be fun. Does anyone have anything to say specifically to a new lock hacker?
