Push Button Combination Padlock

can you pick Push Button Combination Padlocks ? also, how does a briefcase pick work, and can you make them? I've heard that these picks also work on Disk combination bike locks (as seen on this site under Disk Combination )

I have no idea since it is not picking but below are some links i have found on the topic.

I believe the push button locks are sometimes called simplex (if i am not mistaken) and you can find a link about trying to defeat these below:

The 4 digit padlocks that are normally used on suitcases a possible defeat can be found at the below thread:

I believe picks that are used for the 4 digit padlock are sometimes just a hair pin which is really sharp (to feel the locking bar) so technically yes the hair pin can be used as a padlock shim or a pin tumbler pick. Hence it may be able to open a Disk Combination lock. But I am probably showing my ignorance.

Can these locks be manipulated....yes they can be, if thats what your asking. IF you want to know specifically how, it varies from lock to lock.

This must be the easiest lock to pick, because you wont need any tools...
There's some difference in pressure on the buttons that you'll have to push for the lock to be opened. I've learned this without any knowledge about the mecanism, so I have no idea how it works, but it does.

yep I have also figured it out. The buttons slip into position if they are to be pushed, or grind if they are not to be pushed. The "opening" must be held down while you try each button. I had not tried to pick one when i posted the message, was just curious. Since then I bought one, and picked it in 30 seconds. I would have to add that wheel and button locks are the crapest locks on the market. They can be picked with no tool (or just a feeler guage for the master 175 padlocks). The wheel locks (black body, gold coloured wheels and shackle (sorry no pic, couldnt find on masterlock.com I wonder why not?) i picked first go in about 10 sec. It would be more safe to strap the thing up with Ductape! It would take longer to cut the tape of than to pick the lock!
