Hey everyone. Just thought I would drop a line in this section. A friend of mine gave me a lockpicking set that he had no use for. It's a Southord MPXS-62. I count and see 69 pieces. I'm sure this is much more than I need.
Anyways, I've always been slightly interested in lock picking as a hobby. And now that I have this set for free, I might as well get to learning! Looks like a great, and very resourceful forum here! I'm really excited to get better at this!

Hi!
Thought I would post on here, so that Id have it done with.
I have been visiting this site for well over a year now- initially to aid in learning picking, and since then for questions I have regarding locksmithing, when I need help with something, or just to pass the time, and see if i can't learn something.
I work in a locksmith shop in florida, have for about two years now. It is the most interesting line of work Ive been in, and looks to be something Ill stick with.
Nice to meet you all!

Hello everybody, first post time
I have been reading articles and tutorials on this site for a few months now and my picking is coming on well
Am currently picking 2 and 3 lever locks (Thanks again NKT)with some home made 2 in 1 picks and wires.
Rim cylinders and euros with security pins are the next step on the ladder
Thanks to all those who contribute to the site.

Hi,
I started picking 3 days ago after a presentation by TOOOL at the HOPE conference. I've been happy with some ealy success and am now looking to throw myself into the study of it. I'm amazed by the whole thing, honestly. Glad I attended that talk and glad they pointed me here.
thanks!

If anyone is wondering why im interested in picking, well im into security, im paranoid, im a nerd(computer nerd) and phsyical security was the next setp. i saw a vid or 2 from defcon 13 i beleave, Ollam on an intor to lockpicking.

hello everyone!! my name is jessica. i am 21 years old. i just registered today at around 12:00 est and i have known about this site for about a year and half now and i finally got urge to join.
the interest in locks and fixing doors started in middle school(you can thank the custodians for that) they were all x or retired locksmiths and did all areas of door repair in the school.
this continued through high school when i got tired of the high school maintenance personnel not caring for anything and i got tired of seeing doors hanging by one hinge or just the closer's arm so i took it upon my self and they werent mad about me improving the public school. after a while the nickname was givin to me "doordoctor" since i was only one there that knew how to fix things that custodial and maintenance would call a door technician for.
about lockpicking, i would go to garage and yard sales and get their locks and practice on them at home.
i one day want to be certified but whats stopping me is that i dont drive yet and many lockies in central nj(in capital area) are privatized or family own and operated.
so for now im kinda stuck with giving advice for adjusting and repairing door closers and computers over the computer. once in a while someone would give me one to add to my collection of closers. my collection is (3 hydraulic)norton storefront 1600 series utility, dorma (7600)? made in 1989, and one of them old potbelly style closers made by russwin in 1952. i have about 8 storm door kind as well(pneumatic)
sorry if it sounds strange having a 21 year old door closer collector but they are very interesting to me.
door closer questions?? pm me
door closer expert
if its not broke dont fix it!
