Total newbie

Hey i am completly new to this. Never been able to succesfully pick a lock. I tried to open a lock with the numbers on it 0-39 but couldnt figure it out. i would really like to learn that one. I read somewhere how to do it but that didn't work. I can't afford to buy tools, but would love to learn how to make them. I don't know parts or the specific names of locks. Does anybody have any serious advice for me. Find a new hobby is not an answer. Lock picking is something that has always been a cool thing to try. I lost a $50.00 bet trying to impress my friends. I learned a 10lb sledge works wonders on locks though. Again i need some advice on what i can do. Please HELP

Maybe not "find a new hobby," but "learn to write a coherent paragraph" would be a good start

Just browse around the site, there's more here than you'd learn in a year as a locksmith.

Thank you for helping alittle i took your advice and found some stuff that i will read. About the coherent paragraph i am not the most intelligent person in the world and i have add so it is hard to concentrate sometimes. I will look into writing more coherent paragraphs

lol- I think he was being mostly facetious about the paragraph. Good writing has nothing to do with intelligence, just education. It is like the difference between book knowledge and IQ. A person with a high IQ could potentially be a high school drop out, but usually only the educated have a lot of book knowledge.
