Lokka, your picks look very well done.

As for what a windshield is, it is the piece of glass at the fromt of a car.
Image

And the windshield wiper is the little rubber thing that wipes the glass when it rains.
Image

When we say windshield wiper inserts, we mean the little metal pieces inside of the windshield wiper, they're a strip of stainless steel.

As for where to get them, if you ask at a garage, or anywhere that replaces windshield wipers, you can get them there.

Hope this helps,

Can you explain how you made the cutaway? I think it'd be an interesting object to have.

Well, at first i started with small files and understood that they aren´t for this:D
I bought this dremel like cheap machine, i used "HSS cutter" to shaping, and grinding,
for the cuts which show the pins and springs i used smal cutting wheel.
it wasn easy cause i didn´t want to kill the pins, and they vere hard to get out..
I had to use toothpicks, to keep the springs in when turnig the cylinder,
and to push them in the cylinder, so that i got then out..
i had it all clear to me but i managed
to damage one or two springs, they can be a bit repaired with a tooth pick.
shaping and polishing, thats what it is. next thing with it is to change the
wounded spring. as you probably know,
when having this, can change the pins order, easily.

for me the crappy things are:
hurting the spring,
easyer to open,
and the pins can fly or drop when i get it picked, (have to keep it in hand in sertain position)

well it loocks nice and was fun to do.

hi again.
unbreakable, uwsdwf,
windshield blades are working wery well,
i made few picks too, and they are wery good, as a material for tension wrenches, i keep
these the best, at least for now.
For picks, well i they didn´t fit my abus 65/40 padlock,
so i made them slimmer, and now they fit well, i opened it,
i was afraid that they loose
their magical powers instead of increasing them, but luckily in vain.
theyre good, and wery hard to bend.
thanks guys, (if you are),
ill, be sendin some fotos later on.

oh, offtopic, sorry.
i find abus inox t84mb/40 padlock wery hard, (marine?black coating),
is it hard really?the key way is almoust a mirror to the one i mentioned earlier
in this post.[/list]

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.

Urmhh... The 3rd and 4th from the top look liek you couldn't really apply decent tension when using them as wrenches.

5th from the top looks like it's be usefull for turning stiff plugs. :)

I like your wrench design at the bottom - great thinking there.

As I say to pretty much anybody i can... Get some wet or dry sandpaper and polish the picks up a bit. It just makes them work a lot better. :)

thanks wrenchman and illusion!
yup!
about the 3rd and 4th it´s all true, its tricky but i can do it with them too,
wrenches are better (perfect for me)
in the first two.I usually set the tensioner to the... um, bottom in europe,
of the plug, so i just put em (3rd and 4th)in in a od angle, so its fine.
though i will bend them more to get them better.

Good stuff, but you donot need to heat the insert to bend, use a pncil or something round and bend the metal around it.

The key is use a round object to prevent stress fractures.

I have only been heating after all the possible bending, and i dont heat
them red hot, just a little, it hardens them a bit and i find it good thing to
do(they keep the bended shape better). im maybe going to try bending to 3rd and 4th, but im not sure yet,
ofcourse there is a risk..

i have been working with different inserts, some of them are good when heated alot, some of them are ruined, they act differently depending on
whatever thing that i don´t know.

thanks for advice though.
