No. I do not see why it should, at least. BKS (german manufacturer) made one of their most popular runn-of-the-mill europrofile cylinders with pins 1 and 2 spool-pinned for a LOOOOONG time.
Abus has spools in chambers 1-4 and a serrated security pin in chamber 5. They have a short cylinder with only three pins, an in that one all three chambers are spooled.
No problems. The only thing that might happen in a lock pinned completely with spools is that the plug might turn a bit while inserting the key, that would prolly jam further insertion of the key until you rotate it back to 0°.
