electric pick gun defeats medeco lock

My friend and I are at a disagreement. I say an electric pick will work on just about all pin and tumbler locks including medeco and he says it wont work on medeco.

What do you guys think? Is your average run of the mill medeco good enought to not be comprimised by the electric pick gun?

Yes, it is possible physically possible that it could happen, but not at all reliably. I would expect the occurrence of a successful opening would be so rare, you may as well say it is not possible.

I concur, the actual opening of a Medeco would be such a rare occurance with a gun that it certainly cant be said they do infact open with them,

Without getting into any advanced topics, the short answer is "no": a standard electric pick-gun simply bounces the pins up and down... and this is not sufficient for opening a Medeco.

I count at least three serious responses to your question... and, for those of us who took the time to answer your query, comments like the above are unwarranted and unappreciated. A discussion of how to open a Medeco lock is only allowed in the Advanced forums: I think the handful of answers you received were the best you could have expected, given that constraint.
