Note: The original thread where these questions were posed to me has been locked.

I have taken the liberty to reproduce the questions from Krypos here below:

Krypos wrote:How hard was it for you to slide your vinyl sleeves on? Mine are nearly impossible, and worse, my picks don't fit into the leather case if they are on, and putting them on and then removing them nearly bends my picks.

It was a bit difficult to slide my vinyl sleeves on, but I surely did not try to force them on quickly. If your picks are from Southord, they ought to be able to be easily straightened out if they get bent up a bit. Southord picks are rather resilient like that.

Krypos wrote:How'd you do it?

I patiently slid them on at a gradual pace.

Krypos wrote:Do you leave them on?

Yes, I left them on.

Krypos wrote:If so, where do you store your picks?

Sometimes I store my vinyl sleeve picks in a hard-shell eyeglasses case, along with at least one tension wrench. I also have an old Southord MPXS-62 cowhide case with a zip which I store these picks in sometimes. Each half of this case has dual-sectional pocket, which can easily accommodate three vinyl-sleeved picks each.

Krypos wrote:That, and how big is your set? (Yes you heard it, I asked him how big is his set, har har.) I have a 16 pc set and it fits well into the 14pc case, but not with vinyl.

I now have a complete Southord MPXS-62 sixty-nine piece set, a dozen vinyl sleeved picks, numerous extra tension tools, and many other assorted tools and accessories. Most of my tools came from Southord.

Sleaves on picks can be installed with ease if washing up liquid is used with a little water mixed with it, they will slid on very easily.

I think Omikron also suggesed he heats his up gently in an oven to make them maluable enough to slide on,

eyeglasses case? dang. wish id of thought of that, unfortunately i dont wear glasses, but im sure i can pick up a couple cheap but decent ones at a local safeway, etc. thanks man.

i tried to get mine on and ended up VERY carefully using pliers to hold my pick, then slowly sliding them on, but they were a real pain in the butt to put on. and take off. i took them off after i realized they arent going to fit back into my case. real bummer.

what i did to one of the vinyl sleeves though, i dont need the whole handle to be covered, mostly just the parts where the sharp edge of my picks are resting, so i cut one of the sleeves into sections, about .5-1inch long each and then i can slide (fairly easily) one or two of those where i need them. it works really well for me most of the time, not always, but most of the time.

mainly my middle and ring finger suffer from pick-edge-itis. in fact, i wasnt using the sleeves at all the other day, and while working with a particularly stubborn lock, i cut myself, not bad, not bad enough that one would think i apply WAAAAAY to much pressure, but in that case, obviously i was applying a bit much. thank god my picks told me that. or was it my barely bleeding finger? oh well. now i know, THAT is too much pressure. :D

I gave the link to the original thread where the questions were posed. I also gave my opinion on the double-entendre joke about the size of my set.
