First lock ever picked was a Mac tool box. My buddy lost his key and I opened it up with my bosses pick set. (He didn't know how to use them). I had never picked before but knew all about the inner workings. The lock was a double wafer and opened in about 30 seconds. Hooked ever since

My first was an old-fashioned keyhole you could look through. The pins were almost visible. Not much experience since then, haha.

The first lock I picked was my sisters bike lock, it had a 5 wafer cylinder and I used a paperclip.

My first lock would be a kwikset deadbolt on my grmas house.

Postby noctaeon » 22 Sep 2006 6:43

I started on that deadbolt then moved to about 10 different locks the next day including a defiant and a bunch of other deadbolt brands... I started picking with anything i could find inlcluding bobby pins thin wood paper clips safety pins becuz i wanted to be able to pick with anything first then i would make picks it worked out now i can pick with both improv and regular ones i still have not sprung to buy a proper set cuz I have made all mine out of jumbo bobby pins and a grinder i purchased specifically for the job. I now have a box of 50 or so locks now :D

happy picking

my front door. schlage 5-pin "standard ol' residential lock". i received my SO picks and immediately went after the front door and opened it in under a minute.

i felt really proud of myself until my 14 year old daughter said, "daddy, can i try?" so i let her try. she had it open in under 10 seconds. literally. i gathered my tools and slinked away quietly.

I've been picking for about 3-4 weeks now my first pin by pin pick was a "the club" looks like a cheap master lock copy all It says on it besides the name is 40mm.
I bought it because It has a hard nylon cover molded to it that goes almost to the top, so when locked theres no room for a pair of bolt cutters.
I can regularly pop this puppy in under 15 sec. :D

My first lock was an unbranded 5 pin deadbolt I purchased from a local junk store. 1 of the driver pins was a mushroom. I had to remove the mushroom pin prior to being able to pick it for my first time.

My second lock was a Masterlock No. 1. I tried the Masterlock prior to the above dead bolt, but failed. Turns out I was trying to use too much tention.

This was approximately a month and a half ago.
