Seed check out the rules buddy, bad language isnt appropreate on these forums and neither is the idea of a) picking locks that dont belong to you and b) picking locks that are in use,
Every one click the picture in my post to take you to a guided tour of the important stuff you need to learn to get into this sport/hobby and have fun
Woah, sorry, I didn't even know about the language rule....first forum where I've ever heard of that. That's going to be tough lol.
And the safe thing, I realize that sounded bad, but she was sitting right next to me, it was just for fun......way to get off on the wrong foot. Just my luck

Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting.
If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Cheers,
UWSDWF

Hello All,
I joined LP101 about a week ago, and it has become my new favorite spot. I plan on working on a few projects over the next few weeks, 1st is making myself a set of Ray's Bogotá picks, then I plan on working on this automatic key bumper that i saw in one of the threads.
I work for a nationwide company as the regional IT supervisor for PA and NJ. I started picking locks about 5 years ago when I was working as a repossessor, and have loved it ever since. I am not very good, as I have not ever had time to dedicate to practice, but have picked it up as a hobby again.
I am looking for people in North East Pennsylvania to get together and possibly organize a LSI chapter. Please PM me if you are interested.

Hello. This site is amazing!
I found it about a week and a half ago and have been reading the posts daily since. A friend of mine had a pick set and a Master #5 out on the coffee table one day so I sat down and gave it a try. I opened the lock in about 3 seconds and have been hooked since. So far I've opened Master #'s 1, 2, 3, 5, 15, 22, 130, 140, 532, 534 and am working on the 930. I've also opened a kwikset and schlage 5 pin, the schlage turned out to have 4 spools! My point in saying all this is to illustrate how hard core I've gotten into the hobby.
Thanks for creating and maintaining this site. BTW I'm from the south puget sound in WA.
"Cheers!"

Hello everyone. I am new to this site and to the art of lockpicking. I have always had an interest in the subject and am now beginning to persue it. My ultimate goal is to become a locksmith and start my own company. I look forward to talking with you all. I'm sure that I will have plenty of questions and probably some very dumb ones amongst them. Please bear with me. Thanks in advance.

I became a locksmith in 1977 taking the Belsaw - Foley correspondence course while I was employed full time as a law enforcement officer. I performed locksmithing duties on my days off while I was fulltime employed. I retired in 1995 and still do part time locksmithing, mainly for something to do. I can see I have a lot of catching up to do with new methods, tools, etc.
