You're going to want to use the search function. However, I will point out that I have no foggy clue what a "regular lock" means to you. Perhaps if you offered a brand, model, good description, you'd get a better answer.

But search first. For the love of all that's good and holy. Search first.

One of the best things you could do to learn is read and follow the beginners guide posted by Digital Blue. It's not expensive to do it and you will learn alot.

Though you can on an American padlock and locks alike, where the core can be taken out and there is still a housing around the plug.

Ya just might not want to turn it a full 180 degrees or the pins will fall out of the chamber holes drill on the opposite side.

It is really easy with a Tri-Circle 265 or 266. Read Illusions guide.

i may be a bit confused with the question posed, but it would seem to me that it would be quite impossible to practice lockpicking on a lock that is completely disassembled. perhaps you mean a lock that has been removed from it's housing, in which case this is quite possible and fairly simple with common door locks, though improbable at best with padlocks. i'd bet a search of the site would reveal discussions on disasembling door locks.
