Videos of Abus & American being picked with a bogota

I uploaded a couple videos to YouTube of me picking an American 5200 and an Abus 24/60 with a homemade bogota pair.

Homemade Bogota and Peterson Prybar. The nice tools make all the difference. Good job on the locks, especially the American.

Nice job, never had the chance to play with an american lock myself, although they look like a hard pick- I've seen the pins

Great job.

Hehe funny vids, too fast.

I've always found the coffee jig too much by luck. I've sort of done a series of angled scrubs. Although, it seems like there is a method to the coffe jigging madness... i'll have to go back to try that way a few times.

Neat to see how differently you and i use our bogotas... yet the locks opens all the same.

But really, good job, quick and efficent.

Well I'm getting tired of saying this, but "Good job REparsed". I am getting jealous. I think Raimundo will approve of your coffee jiggler method, I think that is exactly the way he describes it. Nicely done.

Thank for all the kudos Spossum!

Yes, I've had good luck with the TMC (Too Much Coffee/Caffeine) method and it's a lot easier on the lock too.

I started off using a scrubbing/raking motion but when I took my first practice lock apart (Master #5) I saw that I had worn a groove in the bottom pins!

I figured something was up when the key stopped working!

That is indeed an amazing picture.

I normally only see damage like that after a pick gun has gone to town on the lock.

Amazing.

That's an idea, why not saw the pins until the lock will open :)

Just use a small dremel machine. Any lock, when it's upper pins will become dust, then the lower pins will become dust, and then it will be open

Well, that explains a lot.

You should get some of MY home blend. Keep you awake for a day on one cup.
