I have seen several posts by people like me who are new to lockpicking and have been easily opening the kwikset locks we buy, cus' they are cheap, and were stopped in our tracks when we tried to open a lock with security pins in them. In my case, I bought some locks from the habitat store and couldn't open half of them.
The signs are all the same.
I can't seem to find the right order
The pins all feel set, but the lock won't turn
When I lift the pin, I feel pushback on the tentioner
The lock seems to "over-rotate" when I set a certin pin
My lock was damaged when I threw it through my window and ran it over with my car.

Searching through the posts, the advice is always the same also.
SPP the spools or security pins first
Let back slightly on the tentioner and push the pin up to the sheer line
Finding the right order is almost trial and error
Put you lock back together and replace your window.
I have created a flash that demonstrates what is going on with these pins. Being as I am new to both flash and locks, feel free to comment if I got somthing wrong. (be gentle about my flash skills
