It would be good if you could search the subject line only. I do struggle somtimes with the PHPBB search.

There's loads of really good stuff on here but if the search button isn't doing it's job properly how will anyone find out about anything. With the greatest respect could one of the moderators pass it up the chain? Many thanks

You could also try the following in google:

[the topic you search] inurl:viewforum.php site:lockpicking101.com

The element "inurl:viewforum.php" is just a trick to make google search only the topic indexes.

You can limit your search to one of the different forum areas by extending that inurl element:

inurl:viewforum.php?f=2 = FAQ
inurl:viewforum.php?f=23 = Locksmith business info
inurl:viewforum.php?f=3 = Pick Fu
inurl:viewforum.php?f=8 = Got questions
inurl:viewforum.php?f=1 = lockpicks automatic/mechanical
inurl:viewforum.php?f=4 = lockpicks manual
inurl:viewforum.php?f=9 = locks
inurl:viewforum.php?f=10 = euro locks
inurl:viewforum.php?f=11 = buy sell trade
(etc.)

In the results, use the google cache link as the forum page number has changed since google was there last time (plus you have your search word hilighted). Maybe a bit complicated, but works often, sometimes the google cache is empty though or google is just not up to date.

Example searching for a topic containing the word EVVA:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& ... tnG=Search

The same search but limited to the Euro locks forum:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=& ... tnG=Search

Nothing needs passing up any chain to anywhere, the search is as it is, it works fine once you know how to treat it,

There are many tips on how to use it but unless you spend at least 10 mins getting to know it you will never be able to use it,
For example there are threads which tell you how to use the search to its optimum,

You can also make good judgements and search in relevant areas but then again threads like this one that arent in the right section (ive just moved it from euro hardware) mess that up, the other thing is poor titles which make it hard to find stuff,

I can pretty much find anything on this site all with the sites search so anyone else should be able to as well,

As mentioned many many times, the site is as is and will not be modified other than majour updates, altering things like the search are currently out of the qustion but when phpbb3 comes out it may be possable to do it from a menu so then things may change, until then code will not be touched,
