I was reccomended this site by a friend and i've decided that it's well worth signing up for. I want to learn how to pick locks because i work in a small-town hardware store, where there is nary a locksmith for 50k's. It's not easy telling people that they're going to have to hire a locksmith from the nearest major center, so i decided to learn how, and hopefully get a few more satisfied customers.

If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU OR ANYONE ELSE RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Keep it legal.

I am new here and have just started picking locks within the last 2 months. I have done the simple practice locks and a couple of best and master locks. I am looking for somewhere that sells some of the more common locks. I have built a small mount so I can practice and I am looking to purchase a decent amount of respectable locks so I can practice and improve my skill.

I am in the Tulsa, OK, USA area and if anyone is in the area I know a small group that is interested in becoming better.

Hello. I'm studying materials engineering and metallurgy and have a general interest in tool fabrication. Naturally, picking tools are of particular interest to me because of the many design constraints. I also have been cracking combination locks for 15 years. When I was growing up, I'd have to crack my father's safe on a monthly basis because he couldn't remember the combination (I eventually memorized it). Funny thing is, the dial was unlocked by a key and I didn't know how to pick locks. He always had to unlock the dial for me. I guess that sparked my interest in lockpicking - being able to open the safe without "cheating."

Nice forum here!

I'm Master-D, from the Netherlands, bought my first set of lockpicks about a year and a half ago and have picked quite some locks so far, mostly padlocks, they're so much fun And I've found quite some useful tricks and techniques reading this forum so i finally decided to register.
