I can't say which pick end is *best*...
I personally favour the hook or the deforest pick tips when picking locks, but others will have very different opinions.
As far as learning *how* to pick locks - look at the FAQ forum and read the stickied threads...

Ya know what, has anyone else noticed or experienced this? I've had tons more successful padlock picking with the half-diamond for some reason. I dont know if its the smaller profile or something, but hey, give it a try. It could be the fact that most of my padlocks are old as hell from my EBay purchase (Yes, they didn't look like the picture ) but whatever ya know.

I really like the small hook. I can feel the pins better with that one. After that would be modified half diamond.

For pad locks I like my hook pick.
(Just A Note) Most Pad locks turn Clockwise, Master locks usally turn both ways...
