slleepytime I found that the Blow gun darts ( as my tenchen wrinch and pick) get in the way of each other. But I did pick my first lock with them ( all luck) Just yesterday. It was a pad lock ( gold and says hardened on it)

Well, here are my homebrews:




The rake and the wrench aren't too good, but the hook's ok. They're smoother than they look in this pic.
Next one will be a half-diamond, when i get around to it.

So far, I've worked my up to 4 pins, but I've only picked that once, so I'll keep practicing.

Udidin, I have to say, you are off to a good start. The hook's width may need to be thinned down a bit so not to disturb the adjacent pins, but good job indeed.

Kaotik, I was thinking the same thing myself last night - I picked the 4 pin on the second attempt, only took a minute, then tried and tried for the next hour and didn't open it again

I'll get the dremel out this weekend and trim it down a bit - I don't think it will be long until I've cracked my practice lock (5 pin, no security pins though, I wouldn't have it on my front door) and I'll be ready for some spool/serrated pins.

Here is something I have been working on. It's not as perfect as I wanted it but this is just a concept of a set of 3 I will make.

They will be double ended like this one so 6 pick ends total.

Wow, that's beautiful Kaotik!! What will the other pick types be? Or are you gonna keep us in suspense until you unveil them to us?

Right now, it's made from a hacksaw blade and aluminum. The ones I make for sale will be made from those 12"x1/2" feeler guage when I get my hands on some. I would prefer to use stainless rather than hacksaw blades because of the surface rust that can accumulate on them.

I havent set a price for them yet, nor have I decided whether to make the set with 3 different hooks, half diamond, ball and snake or just make two 3 piece sets, one set with the above tips and one with falle ends.

I need to get some more supplies so you all may be in for a little suspence

They look great to me bulletsnz..I wish my first attempts looked like that (or even my 3rd or 4th ) Make sure to keep on polishing them until they are mirror smooth as this means they'll move in the lock easier and provide greater feedback.
