In light of the last post, especially so. There's nothing wrong with the existing lock, the bitting has just been compromised. Rekey the lock, problem solved, and for cheaper than either of the other options.
Supposing it were possible, rekeying the lock is still ideal because the knockoff is probably more vulnerable to snapping. If rekeying the lock isn't an option and swapping locks is, go ahead and swap them because you've got permission, and unaccounted for keys are a worse threat than whatever the knockoff is vulnerable to.
