Friend needs to get into a room

Postby Kajük » 15 May 2004 14:25

Okay i have a freind who needs to get into a room of her house to get some stuff out of it but it is behind two locked doors and she does not know how to pick very well (she takes half an our to pick a lock). she can only oget into the room during the day when her parents are home but she cant get the stuff out when her parents are home or she'll get cought so if she takes a key and makes an impresion of it some how (with playdough or some other clay like stuff) and then gives me the impression how can i use that impresion to make a key type thing?

Also can any one tell me a wayto make a set of lock picks with common house hold objects?
And that is why i probably should'nt be allowed on the internet.

As you are new here i shall be not too harsh. First search the forum before posting silly questions like how to make picks. The answers are on the forum but if you cant be bothered to search how are you going to be bothered to make the picks ? Secondly why not just call a locksmith if its that important ? Thirdly read the FAQ section through and you will understand how this forum works. Then check your posts for errors before submitting then people will take you more seriously.

if i was her i would dissasemble the knob and rotate the tail piece 90 degrees and reassemble it.

this would allow the knob to be removed at a later time without the key.

however I have a feeling you would be better off reading the key or smuggling it out for reproduction at a shop.

or

dissasemble the lock and take all but two pins out of it for easy picking at a later time

Im guessing a few different things.... either its a locked gun cabinet in the parents locked room, or maybe a locked liquor cabinet in the parents locked room, or its a locked box of some sort she shouldnt be getting into in her parents locked room. If this is the case you are a MORON, and should not be helped.

how can i use that impresion to make a key type thing?

Well what i did a few years ago was push a key into clay take out the key and let it set, now just fill the impression with solder.

be warned it doesn't work very well and likely to snap off:
i only used this technique to get through screen doors and those cheap crappy money boxes (25c locks)

just a thought :)

If she lives in the house and needs the stuff which is locked behind two doors, why doesn't she just ask for it? If it is locked away, surely it is done so to keep her from getting to it. This is usually done for a valid reason.

(she takes half an our to pick a lock).

This is not an unreasonable amount of time to spend on a lock...some of us have spent many years on a single lock and are still far from cracking it.

she can only oget into the room during the day when her parents are home but she cant get the stuff out when her parents are home or she'll get cought

If she's likely to get caught, she shouldn't be attempting to get into the room in the first place.

so if she takes a key and makes an impresion of it some how (with playdough or some other clay like stuff) and then gives me the impression how can i use that impresion to make a key type thing?

An impression could be made with epoxy resin strengthened with fibreglass strands, however, being caught as an accessory to burglary, with a burglar tool i.e. an improvised key, would leave you wide open to being cellmate with a lonely brute with one thing on his mind....

Also can any one tell me a wayto make a set of lock picks with common house hold objects?

and i dont know to much about what she is trying to get into becouse i didnt ask to much about it but i know for a fact its not a gun or beer cabnet
And that is why i probably should'nt be allowed on the internet.

How come you're here instead of your "friend?" If she's the one that needs our help, why doesn't she sign up herself? It's free, you know.

Also -- put yourself in our place. Your "friend" needs to get through two locks to get something she doesn't want to get caught with. Are we really going to help you out? I'm surprised at how much help you've gotten already, honestly -- but then, I always seem to be the skeptic.
