Non-destructive disassembly of a Masterlock No. 643

Postby ReverseLogic » 21 May 2004 11:56

Anyone know how to take this bad boy (ok,not really, but we'll pretend it is) apart without breaking it?

I just bought this one from home depot, and am aware of two techniques of how to find the combination. The method that involves using a device like a sesamee decoder won't work, because it is tightly machined, and the second method, which involves manipulating the dials, (Chucklz knows what I'm talking about from my bike lock question) doesn't seem to be bearing any fruit either, most likely due to the fact that I need to work on my sense of touch. I'd like to open it up and see if the binding mechanism is just that well machined (I can't feel anything when I hturn the dial to the right number). It probably is just that, because the outside of the lock is well machined, so I would assume the rest of the lock is as well.

Thanks in advance,

-RL

I have the exact same lock, but sold by TruGuard. Manipulating is a piece of p... when you know what to do. As far as disassembly, I haven't done that yet. As you're not in the secure group, I'll check with Chucklz regarding PM'ing you with the manipulating info......

I'd love to, just lemme make sure you don't have any dodgy posts beforehand.......I'd hate to post this to someone who is likely to abuse it.
