From the look of the keyway it seems like a dimple lock. Never seen a lock with that particular brand symbol though. Sorry I can't offer much help.

For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

I'm clear showing my newbie-age with this, but here goes:

Is Sargent Keso a high security lock?

It's a dimple lock so I'm guessing it is. Although most of the advanced folks here think Kaba dimple locks shouldn't even have the UL classification of high security because it doesn't pose much of a challenge to them.

Sargent hasn't used it in quite a few years, but it was their logo at one time (probably a play on Sgt. stripes as UWSDWF posted). That kind of dates your cylinder, since the currrent ones (at least for 15 years or so) will say "Sargent" on the face 8)

I appreciate the response Eyes_Only. :) I had my suspicions that it was that dimple locks were advanced based on the lack of coverage out here, but I thought I'd better ask just to be safe.
