what i really dont get is....who would have the time to pick one of these locks in public....kinda...obvious to me if you stand in front of the machine more than 5mins...

come on guys give the new guy a break,

if you really want to pick a tubular lock on a vending machine ,and succeed
you deserve that chocolate bar for not being caught after sitting there the whole time unnoticed.
in my workplace we had to put a grid in front of the glass,also we had to
bolt the legs to the floor,as we caugt some guys tilting that heavy machine
so the sweets will fall down into the collection tray. we also had put a vibration alarm on the glass door, wich when you hit or tamper with the machine a buzzer is activated in our office. the lock to that machine is of a
hexagon shape , so feel free to try.

as a last note, in our jails if you receive a sweet or chocolate from a fellow inmate be sure when the lights go out, you would have to return the favour!

willing or not.

so... think about that, that is why we need the 10 commandments to keep
us on the right path.

well it seems like nobody has posted anything on paper impressioning on tubular locks. i first learned about this when my teacher said i could open her tubular override lock on our classroom's comp...(its useless and its not even connected anymore...ancient comp)...so i just took an index card and rolled it on a pencil and taped it so that it would keep its cylindrical shape...then i stuck it in the lock and wow it opened. the way it works is that the paper index card is soft enough and with the pins pushing on it, it makes an impression of the key, (which lasts for a short while) which opens the lock...hope this helps...its just another macgeyver kinda method...

That looks like a nice DIY effort there novicelockpicker, how successfully do the bus-pass ones work out of interest? And I belive I have a set of picks for "locks" of a hexaginal shape.

anyone else thinking that.

$3000 in a couple hours, $13,000 in a couple trips. (at ONE location) This guy has been busted several times, and last time was caught on video putting glue in locks he couldn't pick, so "hopefully" they would be replaced by locks he COULD pick.

"a couple candy bars" is a joke..there's real money in those machines.

well...they work better for simpler locks, stuff you'd find on ur bike lock and such...not anything ace, or security...but of course, real picks are the best

I think if you actually read the rules of this site you will see why but i have to say there ARE threads on the paper roll and bic pen methods along with others on site but i guess without looking first you wouldnt have known that,

Ive just looked over this thread again and im not sure whether to clean it up, lock, leave or remove it so ill leave it for now,

Ive got a pick for the hex locks, its only the shape thats differant,

posting on a subject that i looked at to see all the ways others have posted and i found alot of info"did he say he searched and didnt find any"also to the person refering to the man as saying it was ok to steal you must have a very loose moral value!If its not yours dont take it..AND isnt the rule of this sport/hobby/site that you dont pick locks you dont own? never pick a lock in use or a lock you depend on.Why has everyone not just told the person that started this post to read and learn.So with all that said i guess i just needed to vent alittle sorry..james

Firstly this thread was made 4 years ago, see that 4 years, back then it was a differant site with differant rules,

Someone has come on and posted on the thread recently which is great as it didnt put a new one up that everyone will jump on and say search and post in an existing one,

Ill review the thread and make a decision of its outcome, i cant rmember now if it was us or the poster who has mentioned vending machines so i shall look that up and go from there,

Right this all kicked off because someone posting in another thread then posted in this one after being told to post in this one i think,

I suggest this gets dropped now, it wasnt recent and i dont recall the user posting since (but he could have of course i havent checked),

Dont pick locks in use,

Dont pick locks that arent yours,

Dont post up about picking vending machine locks,

What do you all want from this thread? removal, clean up or let live and contiune with life?
