and a grip that lets you squeeze diamonds out of a lump of coal.
Nah - That's caused by those nice people who love to take money off of you.
I guess when people start a family they invest in a large sack of coal and try to hone their skills.

Chicks get VERY creeped out by this. As a matter of fact, 2/3rds girls that I've encountered thought that simply picking a padlock in my hand was creepy, until (if allowed) I engaged them in conversation about it. Certainly dropping off a girl at home and picking her door open while she digs for your keys will result in multiple concussions to the head by her purse and/or shoe.
The only girl I ever met who gave lock picking a try was an ex street walker! She had a natural talent for lock picking. I am not joking, I lent my picks to her one day to have a go at this Lockwood 5-pin front door lock on a friend's place that I'd just picked (and with some difficulty I might add), and she had it open within a minute and, I swear, she had not picked a lock before. Obviously she had "the touch"

Why do I like to pick locks? I like the thought of being able to bypass them. It is like reverse engineering, especially on the more complicated locks. It involves a degree of skill which can continuously be improved upon so it's a never ending hobby.

Is anyone having a problem posting new topics?
Sorry for posting here, I am trying to post a new topic and am getting debug errors from the website software. It is spewing out SQL commands and is saying it is in "debug mode".
Thanks,
Michael

and the number reason
(drum roll)
You don't have to walk all the way back to your truck for a drill when faced with a lock out.

I for one feel opening for a friend is not a good idea. If he forgets to lock, thinks he locked it and gets broken into, or gets broken into by the means of defeated lock, you'll be his first suspect.
Original poster, it's a hobby. You might consider the answer to be similar to the answer to what you get out of fishing especially when you play catch-and-release.
