Hay Eyes_Only you are right about GM no longer release key codes i am a bailiff and one of the guys of the dealer i used to get keys from showed me the letter right from GM saying that only a person with the proper title and id can get a key code and a key and it also says that locksmiths, baliffs, police ect.. can no longer have this info . that is y i am here :)

This has been the only method for obtaining key codes in Australia for many years (since publication of codes ceased).

True locksmithing doesnt require key codes. In fact, I would go so far to even call it codesmithing instead of locksmithing.

There are many tools available that can make keys for vehicles in extremely quick times, maybe it's time to invest in yourself with training and some of these tools.

Sure there are cars today that are more difficult to make keys for....and having access to codes would make the job easier...and consequently cheaper. One of the primary reasons...the auto trade is dying for many locksmiths is due to codesmiths cutting all the profits out of auto locksmithing.

I for one, am happy that GM has decided to not give out key codes anymore....this small effort may actually help many locksmiths and hinder many codesmiths.
