Hey there all, I'm new here (obviously, but have always been interested in picking locks.

I've had a few sucesses whilst playing over the years, using what i have now read is the "poke and prod" method, and never used anything beyond a paperclip and a screwdriver. Seems it's time to actually learn how to do it properly!

I'm hoping you folk can help me in that!

Hi, I am new to this forum and am very pleased to have found it. I am based in Kent, England.

I will soon be starting a new job reposessing properties where the mortgage or other loan secured on the property has not been paid and I will be expected to gain entry to the property fairly quickly as a baliff will be standing over my shoulder.... from what I hear they don't like to kept waiting!

I have a couple of questions so will post in the any questions thread.

Old dog learning new tricks

Postby buster101 » 28 Oct 2007 15:58

Well, I became interested when I watched a guy at the hardware store rekey a lock. It looked pretty interesting and simple (except if you have fat fingers) I started taking a few old ones apart and have just made a few basic picks so I want to get the feel for it.
Thanks for the great, friendly advice and I hope to graduate to a higher skill level by reading these posts!

Hi, I've picked for the last year or so, starting with some homemade picks made from dental picks and a nail. I recently bought a commercial set, which introduced me to some new pick types and helped explain why some of my picks didn't work well. I live in MI and look forward to being a member of this forum.
