Stuck cylinders

Postby Zickddot » 13 Nov 2007 22:09

Hey, I'm new to lockpicking and am still a virgin. I have a question about my lock's cylinders. I can get all the stuff down, but it seems that they stay down. It this supposed to happen? Wouldn't this obstruct the movement of the lock?

What do you mean by "stuff"? The pins?

No no no, it is better to read Locksport Internatil Guide to Lockpicking, because it has A) colors, B) photographs and C) guide to make tools, D) your momma.

What do you mean the stuff stays down? Are you picking a euro cylinder or US cylinder? Gotta be more specific.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Okay: his question was unclear... but that's uncalled for. :?:

My guess is that Zickddot is trying to pick a Euro-profile cylinder, and mistakenly thinks that depressing all of the pins will cause it to open. I'll echo Jaakko's advice: the LSI Guide is an excellent starting point, which should give you a good start.

I was just joking I'm sure as adults we can take jokes like that and if we couldn't then alot of stand up comedians would be jobless.
But if he does think I really meant his penis then I'm sorry lol.

What I'm trying to say is this. If one of the pins stays depressed, doesn't that mean the cylinder won't turn? How can I get the cylinder to get out of the hole if it has no spring support. (Sorry, my lockpicking vocabulary isn't very clear)...(I don't know what these things that I'm poking are called)

pinns.. there are lower pins"the ones you poke" and upper pins "that move up and down in the drill holes"
any way try to oil the lock and just keep poking the stuck pin without using a tension wernch

Never "assume" anyone is an adult,
Jail-time might become involved.

Never assume everyone you meet online is a "he"
His/Her profile says nothing on the mater.

weiner humor is (with some VERY funy exceptions)
usually male. Some ladies out there dont wanna hear it.

Of course I dont wanna hear em complaining about
someone else using it either.......

Besides, how many GUYS do you know who log onto
the internet and the first words they type are:
"I'm STILL a virgin" ???

Okay, nevermind...
anything else I say is gonna add to the problem.
To quote C3PO: "...shutting up now, sir"

Pins and Cylinder are acceptable terms.

Sometimes when they get old enough you might have
to bang 'em a little bit to make em happy.

....ok rontgens... dont even THINK ABOUT saying it.......

Read this post about "shaking your locks":
viewtopic.php?t=25514
Lots of people talk about stuck pins in it,
and dealing with them in various ways...

----
watch out... someones gonna crack a joke about your
"POKING' comment next.....

If you really don't read what is answered to you, you don't learn. Really, go back to my previous post and please read that PDF I linked for you. It teaches you the very basics and some terms so that you can at least ask questions.
