Just picked up a 150... seemed simple, but i have a feeling it has a security pin... it definatly has 5 pins... not sure about security though... just assuming that based on the pattern your list is showing

a few suggestions.
i believe that #21 has 5 pins instead of 4
and i picked up a 930 and a 911 last night.
the 911 had 5 spool pins. the 930 had all regular pins.

Ok, I've read this post, and maybe I missed it, but I don't see any info on the Master Lock #5. I have one that I can pop open anytime, but there is one on one of my delivery guy's truck (who is also my brother-in-law and gave me permission) that I cannot get open. It's embarressing. Do some of the #5's have security pins, and some that do not. Please help me save some face.
Thanks

That's funny, I bought a #5 the other night. It seemed a bit tougher to pick than the riduculous #3, but I can get it real easy now. There are not any security pins in a #5, so I think that other lock might just be stubborn. Spray some WD-40 in that your brother-in-law's lock and see if that helps some. Have fun!

Actually, since I posted that, I DID spray some WD-40 in it and still could not get it opened. Then instead of using a bogota rake on it (which usually pops them right open), I used a half diamond pick (Ray's pick), and opened it right up. It was a bit embarassing to me. But I looked good to my bro-in-law. Anyway, I guess the moral is, if one pick doesn't work, try another.
Thanks for your help

I know I'm a noob, and if I looked harder I could probably find it somewhere else, but here goes...
I was wondering, on a scale of one to ten, how hard are the school P.E. locks to pick? It's a masterlock and says V688 on the back.
If that's not the right info, it has the turn dial onthe front with the small keyhole in the back.
Thanks for any help I get.

for what security pins are, they are pins that arent smooth. the have different types that are shaped like spools, mushrooms, some pins have serrations on then some have hyprid spools with serrations. this principle of none smooth pins make raking harder and single pin picking (spp) a little hard. most lprs use a "false set" to pick a lock with security pins. They really prevent the guys that can only pick master lock #3 from learning to pick other locks because they lack the pacients to learn spp security pins. hope that helps
